The Council has achieved notable success in the national 2023/24 Adult Social Care Outcome Framework (ASCOF).
This annual national survey assesses the performance of social care services for people aged 18 and over, as well as carers, across 21 performance indicators. The council exceeded both national and regional averages in 15 indicators, and matched the national average in one.
The council ranked second in the country for the carer quality of life experience but also secured a rating in the top 20 of all councils across three specific carer satisfaction metrics. This outcome reflects the work of the council over the last 18 months to improve support for carers.
Cllr Maxine Sadza, cabinet member for social care and healthier communities, said: "This year's performance rankings are a fantastic reflection of all the work we have done as a council to support people we work with.
"We have actively developed new approaches in many areas of our work, so we are pleased that these have positively impacted on peoples experience of our services. We will continue to focus on enhancing our services to ensure they meet the evolving needs of our community."
